Anyone seen a cheap but decent tripod for a sat dish?
I'm after a maxview if poss but they are £60 in Maplin - less a £3 discount code.
Not too bad but a bit cheaper of the same quality/weight would be better. Please don't suggest an inverted clothes whirly!

i use a cheap camera tripod...£5.75 from argos. i bought a "u" clamp from a car exhaust centre for 80p and used that to attach the dish to the extendable centre shaft. the legs are in 3 telescopic sections, but i only extend the thickest sections so the dish sits about 3 feet from the ground. i drilled a hole just above the base of each leg and use 3 steel pegs to keep the whole thing in place.
never had no bother with it.
hope this helps,
simon.

Thanks for replies.
Nothing wrong with the alternatives as suggested above and not being snobbish but I'd like a nice lightweight stable easily adjustable tripod. I'll have a look on ebay.
I have a Maxview in my caravan that's stored in Europe and I'd like the same for my UK Van.
