Do AlKo make caravan axles in different lengths? I just took the mover off my old caravan and fitted it to my new one to find that the motors are significantly further apart then they were on the old one, but the wheelbrace that actuates the mover sticks out further from the side of the caravan than it did on the old one.
It occured to me that the only reason for this would be the caravan has a longer axle. The overall width of the caravan is about the same, but the motors on the mover are probably 150 - 200 mmm further apart, looking at the marks on the square tube that links the two motors together.
This might explain why the new caravan tows at least as well as the old one despite not having a stabiliser, being a bit longer and weighing about 75% more
