We've bought an old (1989), but good Mardon Dalesman 440/2. It's got no info with it, and I was thinking about acquiring a new or used copy one of the Haynes manuals by John Wickersham. Trouble is there is too much choice!

The Caravan Manual (1993 edition)
The Caravan Manual (1996 edition)
The Caravan Manual (2009 edition)
The Caravan Handbook: Owning, Enjoying, Improving (2002)
Caravanning Handbook (2010)

As my van is '89, am I better with the older editions as they will be talking about equipment that was current back then...? Or am I better with newer info?

Turning to caravanning from camping due to health. Got the van May 2011 - see images!

I would go for the one closest in date to your caravan. Most of the equipment in a 1989 caravan will be covered in the 1993 edition. Much later editions will refer primarily to stuff that came along later. I think I have the 1996 edition and our caravan is a 1997 model. We have found it very useful over the years.
