I have now got the caravan home, what a day yesterday! The handover took 4 hours, due to the seller wanting to be absolutely sure I was happy and had everything! He has given me roller fresh and waste containers, hook up lead, converters for the continent for household hook up, jack, bucket, tool kit, gas bottle, owners manuals for the van, fridge, cooker, water heater, pump, everything. What a guy. It needed two new tyres and his son drove to get them fitted whilst I went over the van details. Amazing. I cannot thank them enough. Here are some pictures just 5 minutes after I got the caravan on the driveway.
I'm VERY happy. Curtains will be in the washer today, and I am going to stick the battery on my Optimate to coax some charge into it.
Brilliant.

The van has a 12v control unit to supply 12v when the battery is low/dead/not there. I'm pretty sure when hooked up (as it is now) the unit acts as an inverter for the 12v systems. However, I have removed the battery and stuck on a recovery device (Optimate) as it was only managing to punt out 8.8v. It is probably dead, but I'll try to revive it if possible.
The pump is a Whale 88 and the pins look in bad shape, one has actually broken after being removed about 10 times during testing. So, it might be wise to replace the pump and water inlet as it needs a new cover anyway. The problem is we go away on Wednesday so I only have 2 shopping days left to get the pump to work....
Fridge is now working though.
Heater has been tested and works.
Just need that pump fixed so I can fill the Carver water heater and make sure that is all good.

Could be tap microswitch. Under sink can you see 2 thin
wires going up to tap? Turn on tap & touch wires
together. If tap works then you either need to dismantle
tap & fit new microswitch or get a new tap.
pressure switch / screw fully in or down.with all connected as normal open one tap fully.very slowly screw out the screw until it just starts clicking and you have a flow of water.close tap.the green or red light will come on when the tap is opened and should go off a few seconds after the tap is closed.if the pump is running and the green light is on with no water present at the taps there is an air lock.remove the pump completely and add to the water first and then fit it into the socket of the van.some think there is a fault when no water comes immediately as it does take a few minutes for water to arrive

There is a bit of 2 core running up to the underside of the switch by the tap, but there is no microswitch on the tap itself. I guess this simple switch is a precursor or workaround for a tap with a microswitch built in? I cannot short the ends as one is soldered and the other is crimped to the switch. Cannot access the switch either as the cupboard under the sink would have to come out..

It never starts to click though.

You mean the light in the worktop mounted switch? I have never seen it light up...

I can't get the pump to run at all.

Tried that, and it makes no odds. Even hooked up the pump to the inlet and got 12v on the connector and run water through the system out of each tap. Still no joy.

you will not have both systems,if there are wires to the taps you have micro switches,if no wires it is a pressurized system.if you have more than one tap its unlikely that all micro switches have failed.do you have a fuse anywhere that has failed.as said battery needs to be good. see also
