Hi
Just got back from a few days away and while we were there we tried the new awning out (brilliant!), it came with a storm tie down kit but nothing for these thingies (sorry can't think what they are called):
I read that people use guys or bungee cord but am wondering if there are any other recommendations out there and where I can buy if so? OH likes the idea of bungee but what would go on the ends to peg it down?
Thanks

I also have those front lugs on my Dorema awning too and have never thought of using them. In fact I don't even know what the purpose of them is actually. It will be interesting to know if anyone else knows what they are for and if they actually use them.

Hi
Many of the full awnings have provision for these extra storm guys and they can be purchased as an additional accessory. We've never found the need to buy/use them and I can't say I've ever seen anyone else bother with them either. I suppose they would stop the sides from flapping a bit - but would also be a trip hazard.
We do use storm straps to help secure the frame in bad weather, but I just can't see any justification for the little ones around the side walls.

We have used ordinary guy ropes in these on a couple of occasions when it has been ridiculously windy, just to give the front some more stability. 99% of the time we don't bother.------------- Ali

Woofers, if you look at Bill Terrys pictures of his new awning, he has them tied down. I've been drooling at the pictures since he posted them. Lol
