Decided I (we) need a mover - ano domini et al!
Problem is - what is suitable?
We have an Abbey Piper 2-12, '95/'96 vintage. This model seems to have a "chassis depth" of 6"-6.5".
Some of the movers on offer on E-Bay specify a "chassis depth" of 8.5" !
Any, sane, advice welcomed .
Hi, My chassiss is same depth as yours, Got mine fitted 4years ago, and at that time the only mover that would fit with the ground clearance required, was the Reich Mover Model 527-0521 with remote control engagement,(additional) £1000+£250 for renote control, i think they have come down in price since then.

That's a surprise, jhsw as the Reich used to be renowned for it's low ground clearance. They had a lot of problems with them a few years ago clipping kerbs.

Hi, Well thats what the fitters said that it was the only one that would fit, did not know anything about all the movers that were avalabile at time, and needed one as Just had by-pass opp. that was 2005 before i joint this forum, come to think of it, I have clipped a high kerb on one occasion,( was nearly run off road, and was forced into kerb right at a road side drain), and the mover did seem to be a bit low, after seeing a lot of other movers fitted to other vans. got me thinking now, was there any other mover that would fit better. Still im happy with the mover, and the low clearance make you more aware of turns.

Just bought the one needed on e-bay and will get it fitted asap.
As well as your goodselves Reich were most helpful, saying " . . a ground clearance of at least 18cm needed . . .". We have 24/25 cm, thank heaven! Plus they confirmed the model we were bidding on was suitable.
So here's to stress-free positioning on sites - still got the problem of when the "boss" says LEFT is it MY left or HERS.
Hi brianaauk, you will find moving van so much easier with the mover, enjoy the new toy.Oh Remember not to have EHU on when mover isolating switch ON, as it May fry the control box of the mover(£100+).
" So here's to stress-free positioning on sites - still got the problem of when the "boss" says LEFT is it MY left or HERS " , Have same problem with Grandkids, when you say to pick up some thing on their left hand side, they look right, now just say to them, ( No Your other Right) , or vice versa.
