Hey everyone, wasnt sure where to post this but thought id give it a go...we picked up a 2003 bailey Ranger last week. Ive been pottering about cleaning it etc and its a super van, spotless throughout and in great condition. When i was trying to open the front windows testing everything I noticed the small wooden panel that stretches along the back of the sofa ends and directly in front of the windows ( like a window shelf I suppose) has some mouldy looking spots. they are green/grey and are dry, there is no sign of water ingress and no obviously damp spots. I wiped over it with a damp cloth and they dont come off. can anyone suggest what they maybe and how to get rid? If you imagine inside the caravan, directly behind the front locker, a strip about 4 inches wide and across the width of van thats where they are.

Hi , as michael post, and if spots all along window shelf, it may have been condensation on windows, and when wiped off small water droplets landed on shelf and was not wiped up,then humidity in van caused it to mould, a fungicide may help, But not sure how it would react with the self surface,as a lot of house hold cleaners are to strone for use in vans,There will be others along shortly, to give you some advice on what to use or what not to use, hope thats of help.

We had that in our old caravan same place. Was caused by drawing in damp from a side wall (wont go into detail but a lesson was learnt), damp will travel along dry areas. I would get it investigated the sooner the better. It may turn out to be nothing but the phrase ''nip it in the bud'' springs to mind.
