Right we are just starting to get our bearings with our elddis hurricane 1991 we picked it up on Saturday afternoon, we fixed the skylight and fixed the water pump tried the cooker and gas heater they worked fine, but not got any hot water yet. When I turn the carver switch to on one green light comes on but we was in caravan today for nearly 30 mins and water was still cold, how long does it take to get warm but we was running the water a bit as we was running some cleaning stuff through the water system. And to be honest I don't have any instructions for the heating system.

Have a look on the end of the heater inside the caravan and if it an electric version there is a red button on the front, this is to deal with the thermal cutout when someone tries to use the heater with no water inside. Press the button and see what happens.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

I think the heater is under the front seats it is covered in a Polystirene box which is a tight fit and I was scared to force it to get it out from under the seat because it might brake, does that sound like the right thing and will the switch be under this cover?

Hi wizard yes I did email you regarding a manual but since then I have found one online thanks.
Hi Neil how's things? Connected gas up today cooker and wall heater are fine but no hot water. And even when gas turned off the switch on side of cupboard still showing green light I thought that light was to indicate burner lite but can't be if gas was off. No hot water even with electric maybe I need to give it more time to warm up. Thanks Neil

The one on mine was right in the middle of the end of the heater in a small cutaway part of the ploystyrene. There is a manual for one here http://www.thomson-caravans.co.uk/advice/maintenance/pdf/carver-user.pdf

Hmmm... My last 2 caravans have had Carver water heaters. I find it quicker, easier and more economical to boil a kettle...
