Well!!!!!

Just to get back to the OP's question - yes it is very easy to get a German van with a UK specification  You just have to keep looking on all the usual websites, etc. and one will eventually turn up.  We have had ours for just over two years now and would only ever buy another German van as the build quality is so much better. You could check out what layout you would prefer and then you will have a rough idea of what to look for.  We  bought ours from the Caravan Company in Leicester and I know they have German vans from time to time, but they do have other branches in the UK. You could also try Camper UK...........

Happy hunting!!!

We had a Hobby before it was stolen just over a month ago and it had the door on the wrong side. We never found it a problem, as we would just swing her nose around and pull it into the pitch. The seating areas on them seem to be the opposite anyway to british layouts so you can still have a nose out the window in the evenings!

Just beware of Hobbys, as they are certain members of our communities favourites!

Having re-read this, it's all become a bit heated!!

Only thing I would add is that in recent years, we have come across a lot more continental visitors to our campsites, with their "foreign" caravans who are visiting our beautiful country, and the campsites seem to accommodate them without any problems.   Presumably the same is true of UK visitors to continental sites in France and such like.
