I wonder if anyone can tell me how to fix a pole with a wind sock on the front of a caravan. My parents have been after one for ages - I've got the pole and sock but just would like ideas how this is fixed to the caravan. Thanks.

You secure the base by slipping it over a ground spike, as for attaching to the caravan, I have seem clamps that hold them to the jockey wheel.------------- Rich

Hi Julie and welcome.
Persoanlly, I can't stand the things but wifey insists on fitting one to the van. She made up a few straps about a foot long, made of two lengths of velcro so each strap was part hook and part 'fuzzy' but, then uses these to hold the pole to the jockey wheel.
This idea holds well. Other's I've seen simply use one of those elastic luggage straps, again wrapped around the jockey and pole.------------- Paul

I use a ground spike, I have known the brackets that you can buy to attach them to the van to cause damage to the pole. Another advantage of a ground spike is if the wind unexpectedly picks up overnight and the pole comes down then its away from your van so less likely to hit it.------------- Matt

We have a 4m pole with flags and streamers, the kids love it and it makes it individual. We attach ours with a ground spike and attach to the Jockey wheel with a mast clamp.
