Check out the construction of the water heater , my Truma was stainless steel ,, I used to add a bit of bleach to the water tank and run it through both the hot and cold , then run fresh water til clear of smell and taste ,,
When the hot water heater started making a kettling noise , I disconnected the pipework , blanked off the bottom outlet , then filled the heater with a strong solution of the bottled descaler that you can get from the 99 p shops , left it for a couple of hours , then drained all the crud and cleaner out through the bottom outlet , fixed a hose to the bottom outlet , reconnected the top outlet and ran lots of fresh water through it ,, did a lovely job ,, the descaler is also good around the house for bringing up your taps , toilets and shower screens ,,

Steveiem I'm afraid I've got no idea how I'd be able to check out the contruction of the water heater, it's covered in polystyrene.
Job done anyway Filled the 29 litre aquaroll with 5 1/2 caps of Milton and ran through cold then hot taps... With plain water ran the cold tap with 1 x 40 lire aquaroll then did the hot with 1 x 29 litre followed by the 40 litre then another 29 after that, just to be on the safe side ! I can't imagine there's any chlorine residue after all that.
Al & Mel I was a bit concerned after your warning so I rang my nearest place that sells caravans & all the accessories . They actually reccommended Milton straight away. When I explained what I'd been warned they pretty much said the same as the other folks on here. ... as long as as long as you don't leave the MIlton in too long & make sure it's thoroughly flushed after it's ok. It's apparently Milton they use to, have been for years. They do stock the other ones - but in her opinion they weren't any better but cost an awful lot more. But thanks for the warning anyway, always best to find out as much as poss then you can make a more informed decision
Thanks again all of you
