We use a verandah pole in our awning so that we can let air in but the dogs can't get out. Can anyone suggest something to put round the pole where the pole attaches to the awning legs, so that it doesn't rub on the awning wall. I hope that makes sense?. Thanks

Most come with a small piece of awning skirt material behind the rounded head of the fixing bolt. The fabric then folds around the post. Tbh it is not ideal and I've often though about making some form of cover from thick rubberised sheeting or similar.

We've replaced our clamp type attachments with Isabella Grip-on pole clamps (they are fairly universal so don't necessarily need to havew a nIsabella awning).  They have the protector included, and are more versatile than the old type clamps.  They ar not cheap (about £6 each) but would be a nice treat.  See hear (photo not the best though).  The clamp mechanism is also better than the ordinary clamps IMHO.

i use pipe foam lagging for our porch awning it works.
