I've been asked a few times where I got these rubber mats from:
We put 3 down this time but as you can see 1 would suffice as an entrance mat
I got mine from Toys R Us (think they still do them) and can also be bought online, just one supplier I found http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Thick-Rubber-Stable-Mats-Ring-Horse-Matting-1m-x-1-5m-/150605991744?pt=UK_Toys_Games_Outdoor_Toys_ET&hash=item2310d10f40
I'm sure there are lots of other suppliers, just search for 'rubber stable matting'
Hope that's useful for some caravanners
Would also think it's handy for work vans, we keep one in the back of our truck as well, things won't slip about on it

Rubber matting like this is great stuff but - it weighs a ton .... ok not literally, but it's awfully heavy.

These are good too, foam not rubber and much lighter. We have some black ones like that but we prefered the rubber ones, larger and built to last.
