Forgive me for sounding dim, we pick up our new Unicorn Valencia next Tuesday and having never had an onboard water tank I'm not really sure how it works...

If the tank is full and so is the aquaroll which is the primary source when I turn a tap on?  Will the onboard tank keep itself full by drawing water from the aquaroll as it empties or do the two systems work entirely separately with some sort of switch in the van to manually select either one?

So excited now I can hardly bare it!

Any insight would be gratefully received!!!

Hi Daleswalker.

We have Bailey Unicorn Seville - it is entirely 2 separate systems.  You have the choice of using your onboard tank or Aquaroll.  There is a lever/tap under the bunk to turn from one to the other.

I am sure you will love your new van.

We have the Valencia and have had a big problem with the van's noseweight. They say it is 88Kg ex works but on collection it is 98. The max for the chassis is 100kg so there is not much to play with. Bailey say it is the customers' problem to load it accordingly. I have found that if you use 2 Calor Lite in the hood then you need nearly all the weight to the back which nmeans under the bed leaving nearly all the front cupboards and lockers empty. In my tests I had to exceed the total weight to get the noseweight down to 100.. I am now looking at using just one Calor Lite and hope this will do it.Otherwise I will take it back .The problem is that all the accessible storage is at the front. Its a great van apart from this! There is also a recall as wheels have come off probabl due to being tightened to the wrong torque. A torque wrench and nose weight guage appear to be essential accessories. sorry to moan but it is better to be forewarned .

Hi Misterg,

Yeah, the NW thing has been a worry for me.  I've read threads here and elsewhere on this very subject.  It will take some experimenting with transit stowage with some rearranging once on site.  I normally travel with the car almosy empty, I guess that'll have to change!!  Our dealer has already done the recall work on the wheel nuts so that's one less thing to worry about.

Trying not to let it put a downer on our excitement, it's taken a lot of hard work and scrimping to be able to afford a bit of caravanning luxury!
