I Always wondered what it would be like to be away in the van in a bad storm.... And now I know!!! We are away right now and it's thundering and lightening, and the rain well!!!!!
It's not so bad ,noisy but actually quite good, but I hope it passes soon.

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
We had a nasty storm last summer in the Loire Valley. It was lighting up the sky so much you would have thought it was day time. And never had thunder over head so loud before. Nearly headed for the car
I'm that close to getting out and running to and getting in the car, if I wasn't such a coward I would lol, it's SO LOUD!!!! Even the dog is crying lol

my daughter and i love thunder storms, but haven't seen a good one for years, best we have managed in last 3 years isabout 2 claps of thunder and same lightening.
ooooh i love a good thunderstorm, especially if we are in the van, I remember about 6 years ago while at fforest fields we had a great one in the middle of the night, we had taken a friend with us who was sleeping in the tent behind and she came in to the van and we sat up in our sleeping bags, drinking hot chocolate watching it, Was brilliant,

Oh Murano - you woos !!! I love a good thunder & lightning storm so does the OH. We had a belter of a storm when we were away last time actually.
One of our dogs is petrified though but at least in the caravan he's a bit better than in the tent..... Reason being we normally take an ehu pitch with the 'van, so we put on the radio for him - and sing !!!
We had a cracker in the south of france the other year at about midnight but as we were down a slight slope all the water/brushwood and pine needles ended up in our awning!! one bolt hit the site (sounded like it it us!!) and knocked the power out, thats when our friends realised their leaisure battery was goosed, 3 kids in their van frightened in the dark!!!
I always get drunk and fall asleep if we have a thunderstorm, otherwise I start running round doing all sorts of silly things like unplugging electrical appliances in case they get fried by a power surge and generally annoying the rest of the family.
Well survived first storm lol , but it did crack loud over head, and the rain blimey, still it was good fun albeit slightly nerve wracking added by hubby saying baton down, turn of the tv ect ect, but was cosy inside.four years caravanning now and only just had my first big storm , sunny now though!!!!!! That's British weather for you.

I know lol, not like the poor buggers over from us in theirs :-/ I could only picture them all inside the dome, as the rain came down and the sides blowing in, I've been in a tent in the rain before....... And that's why I now have a caravan!!!
