Sorry if this a daft question, but can't recall seeing this in my fridge handbook.
My electrolux has the usual twin outside vents.
The top one of the two has an extra small removable vent cover on the right (part A1620) that seems precariously loose.
Anyway, besides the about-to-fall-off problem (which incidentally I'd like suggestions for a fix) - I wondered what is it actually for, and when should it be removed / installed.

I'm hoping I shouldn't have removed it when running the fridge on gas as I've already done that once overnight thanks to a rubbish site with poor EHU reliability.
Didn't seem any problem with that, but having had the fridge partially out today I imagine it's flu/gas related.
Its supposed to stop the fridge getting too cold in winter. If outside temp is sub zero the contents could freeze solid. In practise you will never need it.
Think it's like a flue for when it runs on gas mine has a metal one that says electrolux I presume yours is just a modern version. As for the vent hanging off it should just screw back on if not use silicone to hold it on and seal it from water getting in.
The small vent is just clipped on. At some point, the size was changed. Older fridges had a slightly smaller vent. We are talking a millimeter or so at the most. My last caravan had the older one and we couldn't get the correct vent for it. I ended up with a later one and forcing it in. It did go, but it was a bit distorted. My suspicion is that your fridge vent has fallen out or been pinched at some point and the older one has been fitted, which explains why it is loose. I think the larger one (the only one currently available) is about £8 from a caravan dealer, so it's not going to break the bank like most caravan accessories. They also come in white or cream.
