Is there any lightweight fixed beds or double diners ( so as to leave a bed made up ) that still have a proper shower ( not one added to the loo as an after thought ) ?
As far as we're concerned this layout for the Orion or Olympus is not quite as good as the Pegasus, Unicorn, or even the Pageant Sancerre (like ours). The Orion and the Olympus are about 4" narrower than the others. Basically, this 4" comes off the floor area, which means a more restricted gangway between the fixed bed and the wardrobe. This may be OK for some, but for those like us, with the fuller figure (), it means quite a tight fit, IMHO. The trouble is, it's going to be a bit of a trade off. The MTPLM of the Sancerre is 1435kg, and the Pegasus and Unicorn equivalent vans are slightly heavier than this. We really like the layout of the Sancerre - it works well for us.
We had a Vendee (but it was a series 6). Although it had a seperate shower, the central washroom was somewhat of a squash. I always had to leave the door open when sitting on the loo - not enough room for my legs. The van was stolen in the end ans we ended up better off with the Sancerre. Just my opinion. No doubt other will differ.
Fair point David, our S7 Bretagne had the centre bathroom, but we didn't have the luxury of the separate shower. The bathroom was the biggest bugbear we had with the van.
However, at least with the separate shower cubicle you would avoid the flippin' shower curtain sticking to you the second there was any humidity in the air, let alone if you actually used the shower!!!!
