I am just about to buy a new 19" tv for the caravan, can anybody suggest one? I am looking around £150-£200. also there is a choice between LCD and LED TV's , are there any benefits to the LED TV's?
Thanks

The LED tv I have at home has a brighter screen & better viewing angle than the LCD TV it replaced. £200 got us a 19" Toshiba one at Christmas, but it has no DVD player. Not sure on current prices.

Saying that, we have a leisure (12v & 240v) LCD Avtex TV in our van & it has a better viewing angle & a excellent signal in weak reception areas. They are more expensive than the budget household ones, but IMO worth it.

If you use non electric pitches then you'd want a Led tv as they use a lot less electric , but make sure you get one that can work on 12 volts other wise you'll need a inverter .

LED TVs are still LCD TVs. It is just that these new sets use LED backlights rather than the fluorescent-type backlights used in most other LCD TVs.

So you see the name "LED TV's" is a marketing Con as they are just plain LCD TV's. They should be called LED Backlit screens. They do however use a little less power and the LED backlight system does give a more pleasing and even way of lighting the LCD panel and gives way to thinner designs, thus a little more desirable.

The real LED TV's that will make their way into the high street in a few years time, will have an active self lighting multi colour LED pixel for each pixel on your screen.

We have just bought on from Kogan and are absolutely delighted with it.

Great visibility/detail, 12v adaptor for £11, arrived in 3 days by courier, very very slim, seems to pick up the free channels better than our home one, plays DVDs, nice easy remote control and will record onto a stick if you want it to.  Best of all it was CHEAP!

Trish, what are the viewing angles like on the Kogan TV? I am thinking about getting a 22inch one without the DVD and they are showing as £115 plus delivery at the moment (August delivery!).

My 23" LCD TV is knackered so I will be rolling with a 32" LCD from the spare room on my next trip.
