hi my mum and dad picked up there new swift challanger last week and thee other day they noticed that the front locker as a crack in it they contacded the dealer and this morning have been and replaced it but when they where fitting it they noticed that also had a crack the dealer said they have had some back for the same problem
so if you have just had a new caravan check if you have any cracks
it must be a fault in a batch of them but the money you payout for the new vans is not peanuts and you would think the checks would be much better
Could be just unlucky, there are a lot of potential problems which may not be noticed until manufacture and not necessarily Swifts fault. The locker lid will be moulded by a third party company, and the material to make that (usually ABS) will be manufactured by the chemical industry, and that in turn by the many chemical producers. Having worked in the polymerisation industry, there may have been problems during the polymerisation process which would not manifest itself until the end user gets the product. Mind you cheap raw materials from China don't help ;)

sorry to piggy back,hi can you tell me why my bathroom sink is yellowing for no reason and can i bleach it out or buy a cleaner or a paint covering.done a search and no answers came up.it is kept very clean and no strong solutions used.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
and don't expect Swift to be a caring company either I had a few teething issues after buying an abbey in 07. The 'customer care' dept just did not want to know. Local dealer was supportive with most issues but when it came to Swift, the fault was obviously not theirs.

Must say I was surprised at this, when we had problems with our 2007 Sprite, and after our dealers lack of a solution,Swift stepped in and sorted it all out.It went back to their factory, and was all sorted out (plus a few other minor problems that they sorted, without us asking).I personally found them to be extremely polite, caring and helpful.

Hi
Sorry for the late reply, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is a lack of UV stabiliser, Most plastics will fade over time, so to counteract this stabilsers are added to stop this degradation. Unfortunately as its an inbuilt part of the process of manufacture, there is little that can be done to remove it, and i'm not aware of any paints that will stand the test of time on a sink. You could try an abrasive compound to see if it is just the surface that has discoloured such as farecla gel coat restorer.
thanks for the reply.i was thinking about a bath paint that you can buy.will try bar keepers friend cleaner.i have an old small piece of plastic that went the same way,had it soaking in strong bleach as test for two weeks now and it has not improved.so it looks like the discolouration is permanent.

If anything, bleach is a strong oxidising agent (hypochlorite) so would speed up the degradation process
