We had a full and a porch awning and found that we always took the porch awning. It covers about 3/4 of the side of the van and provides enough space for the two of us. We can get a table and four chairs in and have enough space to walk around. Useful as a dry area with a dog. If your party is for two adults and four kids it may not be big enough. The porch awning also took up less space and weight in the car which was of considerable benefit. Just some factors to consider
