This year my husband had a stroke and we have been thinking of putting our caravan on a seasonal service pitch for Adults Only because his health is up and down and he has a medical condition as well, as been disabled ,and he is always tried. Has anyone else done this ?
yes Mark we have been on a seasonal pitch for about six years and its not far from you there are six fishing lakes no pub or club and supermarkets are ten minutes away in Horncastle the site does take children but there are not many that go its patrolled on a regular basis andthe workers are always willing to help youits called Ashby park
Our friends, store their caravan on a site and then when they go up for 3 weeks at a time they have their caravan pulled on and then they pay extra and have their awning put up/taken down. When they arrive all they have to do is organise their bits.
We did for a season after I had a serious heart op. Left it pitched up with awing up. All we had to do on arrival was fill the aquaroll & plug in the EHU. It worked for us.
we had a seasonal pitch for a few years and to be quite honest i miss it ,i hate the hassle of packing and all the faldaral that goes with setting up,ive got rheumatoid arthritis so hubby has to do 90% of the work ,i miss just heading up with my washing and some clean clothes walking in and putting on the kettleon a plus side you may make some good friends its a good home from home if you are set up right and very good if your not on a flood plain like we were one of the times ,
rest can aleviate a lot of illness and make you feel better in yourself ,so you go for it and im wishing you all the best on your new venture
We went seasonal three years ago and don't regret it at all, it's just as Wynnie says once set up for the season it becomes a real home from home. We are lucky where we are seasonally pitched we can leave the awning up all season too (some of the other sites in Brean don't allow that) so we roll up plug in and away we go brilliant and even better is on the day we are going home - we watch everyone rushing to leave by 10am and we can just go whenever we like.

Very helpful replies if we happen to put the van up for the seasonal the Adult site my wife likes is in mid wales and we will be going in september time for a few nights away.
We did it this year because I needed somewhere I could go just for one night - or even just for the day - whilst my mother was very ill in hospital. If it makes it possible for your husband (and you!) to get away for a rest without all the hassle of packing up and towing then I would definitely recommend it.
We were after a seasonal too but wanted it within an hour from home because of diesel costs but we couldnt find one so we've done 2nd best & stored in on a C&CC site so we just pull up, put it on a pitch, water & electric on and were set, usually takes 20 minutes so not bad. We've got a fiamma canopy for weekends and a put up the full awning for longer stays.
I did like the idea of leaving the awning up but the plus points of this system is that we have the flexibility of choosing a different pitch each time we go which is nice as you get different views & if you dont like your neighbours you only have to put up with them for one visit & not a whole year
