I am considering having a motor mover fitted to my Bailey Pageant caravan, as there are so many on the market could anybody recommend a particular model for my van.
Ours is a Truma and seems fine. I haven't really got anything to compare it with though, but it does the job and is a heck of a lot better than pushing it.
had ours over 5 years now and the warranty is as good as they say,any problem sorted within three days.would i buy another? yes.pity the warranty has run out on ours.
why do people buy a mover for ?, surely its better by horse power.
i am sure i can think of better ways to spend £700+
There are situations where there just isn't room for car to
reverse the caravan. There are also situations where it just isn't worth the wear & tear on the clutch. There are also many situations where its just easier so if we can why not.
So no - its not always better with horsepower.
Hi roizee09, have the Reich mover with remote engagement, great peice of kit, not the cheapest,no quibble if needing repair,£1250 6years ago, though they are down in price now.also very handy when grass pitch is wet and car wheels slip, just engage mover,no problems.
Hi, gregg495, i got mine as had heart opp. and unable to push or pull van,(no mover no caravaning),also have narrow road and driveway, and can never get room to reverse van onto drive.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

My husband has MS, and my drive is on a funny angle even with a car you can't get it in as good as a mover, plus without a motor mover we would have to give up caravanning , that's why!
If we want to make our lives easier why not.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Fully agree with millermicm and murano, and my Powrtouch direct from Powrtouch was no where near £700. We had to rely on having family and/or friends to help us get the van in and out of it`s parking place, as we are well into our 60`s I think it was money well spent 4 years ago.
We got ours well under £700. If I recall correctly, it was under £500, albeit a few years ago. It is a Powrtouch Model 3 which was pricematched against an Enduro about 3 years ago. There was a long thread here about the same time with people comparing price matched items and showing the best prices to match against. UKCS must have cost Powrtouch a lot of money on the price match, although if it had not been for UKCS, many of those who bought a Powrtouch would have bought other movers instead, so it's swings and roundabouts.
I bought ours on PowrFinance and fitted it myself. The repayments were less than I was paying for caravan storage and the mover allowed me to store it on the drive, so I effectively got the mover for free.
The main reason people were buying from Powrtouch is that the customer service was at that time exceptional. However, I am not convinced it is any better than any one elses now. I Spoke to them a few months ago when I was looking to change our caravan to ask if I needed any fitting kits to transfer the mover onto a BPW chassis, but when they finally answered the phone, they were unable or unwilling to give me a straight answer other than to say that kits were available to fit almost any chassis.
thanks to each and everyone for your kind replies, I will be considering all the options you have given me.
Also a message to Gregg495
I was a HGV driver for well over 40 years and can reverse a caravan to within inches of where i should be, But due to multiple strokes i can no longer push and pull the caravan by hand which you sometimes have to do, therefore to my way of thinking £700 + is a small price to pay for the convenience of that.
