We've seen a caravan we're interested in viewing. There's an Isabella awning & annexe available seperately. We've only seen photos but the awning looks immaculate - turns out it's 8 years old. The seller has told us what price he's looking for but I want to check what others would be prepared to pay for it...
He's asking £800 which I think is a bit steep. Much as I love Isabellas we already have a new (used for a week) Bradcot tall annexe. We could buy a new Bradcot awning for the £800... but the Isabella does look lovely... Didn't think of checking completed listings - will do that now.
The van's the 2003 Sterling Eccles Amethyst. Older than we planned but it ticks all the boxes, looks immaculate (in the pictures), just been serviced & he's emailed me the CRIS number for a HPI check & a copy of the damp report (nothing worth reporting). Can't actually see the van for two weeks tho as they're away next weekend then have their silver wedding the weekend after. It'll give us time to look around & see if we still keep coming back to it the way we have so far...
I paid £600 for an Isabella ambassador on ebay which was a 2002 model - it was still in its original wrappings and completely unused so I got a "brand new" 8 year old awning for £600 including a groundsheet (never used). I think £800 for an 8 year old used Isabella is a bit steep, but as suggested have a look on ebay to give you an idea of a fair price.
£800!!! I think thats alot. I started off thinking I wanted an Isabella but after looking at several awning displays we're going to go for a Bradcot with the lightweight poles but with little money left in the kitty it will be have to be a used one.
The Sterling sounds lovely, we might have gone for an Eccles if we had a car that could tow one. They are high spec and feel really comfy inside.

They're going for much less on ebay so if we decide to go for the van we'll either leave the awning & buy another Bradcot or negotiate for a price we're happy to pay.
If you hang on a couple of months the prices seem fall away on Ebay. I bought my now 4 year old immaculate Isabella Magnum last September for £275 - I'd been watching them all year and suddenly they began going for much less and we got an absolute bargain
£800 i think hes having a laugh, i wouldnt pay more than £200 for the awning and up to £100 for the annex as long as its the matching one, not the universial type, just remember the awning is old at 8 years, even if it looks great.
I'd pay £800 for it if it was 1-2 years old. We bought a 6 year old one a few months ago for £200 (without annex) & wouldn't have expected to pay any more.
The annexe is worth around £250 on ebay tops , the awninings not worth £550 on top of that, i would offer £500 for both if you buying the van as well, if he says no wait till the end of the season. or get you your bradcot altered to fit the new van.
I had mine extended at a place in Farnworth (bolton) for £120. they did a great job the match is perfect and if you didn't know it was there you would'nt have a clue
800!!!!! Thud Donna fainted
We sold our full size Isabella for 400 it was 4 years old and only used once and immaculate, search about a bit you will find one more reasonable
Good choice of van too :) fantastic spec and really luxurious when you look inside you can see why they are heavier they scrimp on nothing, everything is quality.
