Please can you lovely guys and gals help me with choosing our awning. We like the inaca's but would like your views. Are awnings much the same or is it a case of you get what you pay for? We will be on a fixed pitch hopefully next season so it will be up 7/8 months of the year. Still going to use it this season, put up take down. Do i spend more now for an awning that will last longer or they all have the same sort of life expectancy. Oh and just for the cheek if anyone has a 1025 inaca for sale in good condition i'm your gal  Thankyou in advance.

I just part exchanged a Inaca awning with my old caravan, this was a full 950 with fibreglass poles, I could not fault the awning one bit, we had it up for 40 weeks in total over a 5 year year period, it was put up and down probably 20 times in total, the awning after 5 years of what I would call reasonably heavy use was just fine, the fabric was as good as anything else I'd seen and I was told by a fellow camper that this was basically a Bradcot awning, I can't verify this as I never bothered checking.

The zips were used contantly with the kids and they never failed, it never leaked and it with held 2 storms when other peoples awnings collapsed, I have since had a dorema, which came free with the sale of my new van, It does not feel as good a quality as the Inca, but only time will tell.

The one thing I would say is; Try and get the fibreglass poles, they make the erection so much easier, if you do get a  storm at least you have that extra strength in the frame work. Always put the storm straps on, even when fine weather is forecast and always fully peg the awning down, we used rock pegs and it was trouble free. I would have another one, but as my van come with a free awning, I had to take what I was given, I woulkd like an Isabella, but these are so expensive, they look great and the quality is there, but I could not justify the price difference on something that will do the same job.

Good luck with your search

Pete

Thankyou for your reply. We have an isabella large porch awning and we have been told by various inaca owners that inaca is better quality and easier to put up, suprisingly. Also it's very windy on our site and we were told to get steel poles. We want a full awning so when we get one the isabella porch awning will be available if its any good to you just let me know, its the magnum one. I will definately look into the inaca one now thankyou again.

Had my Inaca awning for 9 years,in use for 6 weeks per year thats 54 weeks so far, this year its been up for 8 weeks to date and will stay up untill October total 24 weeks(seasonal pitch) recommend steel poles they are stronger in a storm, fiberglass are light and easy to carry.
if you are on a windy site i would get an additional set of upright pole for each roof pole and fix them about 12ins from the point were the roof poles fix to the caravan. Bill Tery has some pics of this if he comes on to read your post (thanks Bill)??
Or buy a big caravan and ditch the awning

Thanks alpiner, steel poles and extra poles it is. We have just bought a bigger caravan  just want the big awning to match, we would have to buy a static to be big enough for friends and family that come to visit, so bigger awning is the cheapest option. tis a slippery slope indeed.

de88ie, i have just come across this idea, havent looked into it yet but it looks good to me, depends on cost you can see the additional pole support (that i would put at the other end) that you can buy at any caravan shop but its the corner support that looks interestingpole supports

That looks like a great idea, thankyou alpiner, it might be worth investing in a set of those for extra strength and peace of mind. Thankyou.
