Yes, they're commercial tyres at cost - hubby was speaking to someone in the paper shop & the lady who works there OH has a garage so a huge favour that saved us a packet.

Nice one  just wanted to make sure they were as its an easy mistake to make getting car tyres, the implications are drastic if you fit car tyres.

Of course car tyres will fit your van

if your lucky you might come across some lawn mower tyres that will fit as well

But please dont come crying on here when your cheap nasty tyres let go and wreck your van !

Van tyres are heavy duty tyres i.e commercial tyres they have more ply's than a standard tyre, Ply i think is the steel cords that make the base of the tyres.

If a tyre blows it can rip the side of your van out,  cause the van to jack knife or even turn over.

I had the price a bit wrong - they were £40 each plus fitting/balancing.  No idea of the brand - OH sorted it all out.  Might not be the best on the market but we'll only be doing about 800 miles with the van in the next year.  We'll probably replace them with more expensive ones before (hopefully) doing the long haul down to France next summer.

Now to sound completely dim - what are 'Tyron Bands'?  Is it the seal that stops a puncture becoming a full blow-out?
