recently purchased our 1st van, we need to replace the battery, just looking for some advice on which is best and what to purchase. Am I right in thinking they are about £100?
There are a lot of batteries on the market and it all depends what your using them for.For around £80 you should get a 80amp which serves a lot of needs, the higher the amps the more expensive and the longer the power lasts.
Last year, the majority of outlets and electric auto dealers wanted at least £75 for an 85 ah leisure battery but after shopping around I managed to buy a brand new 110 ah leisure battery for just over £60 at a large camping & caravanning outlet. You just have to make a few phone calls and shop around to find the bargains.
In the link Jeff it shows 75 & 96 ah batteries. These are unusual ratings as the only ones I have really come across are 85 & 110 ratings. Having a 110 ah battery now provides longer power but the battery aint half heavy in comparison to my previous old 85 ah battery and takes up more room in the rear of the car when transporting from home to the caravan storage. Its also bumped the noseweight up a bit as well.
