We put up our new porch awning for the first time last weeekend.  It wasn't long after that we had torrential rain and the water started running down from the awning feed rail, down the seams of the tent and through the top of one of the zips,  I reported this to the company that I bought it off and they told me it probably just needed to be weathered.  I was told to soak it, then let it thoroughly dry, and to do this three times in total and then it would probably be ok.  Has anybody else heard anything like this before, if so, could you let me know?

we had the same problem with the 270 Horizon also when it rained the roof sagged, contacted the supplier sent them some photos and we swapped it for the Swift model ourselves paying the extra in price .The Swift is brill if they wont change it you could try painting seam sealer on the leaking seams, good luck

We have had the same problem with all of our awnings, generally it gets better but a quick spray with a tent sealer works wonders

We had the same problem a couple of years ago with a 290 awning.  We spoke to someone in an accessory shop about it (not the dealer we bought it from) & they told us it's common.  The awning needs to be soaked to make the stitching cottons swell to plug it properly.  They told us it was a decent awning & would be fine after a couple of good soakings.  And it was.
