Need to get a decent size easy to erect porch awning.........Been looking at the Kampa Fiesta 350 and it seems good value for money......any comments please
Hi June, I haven't seen one of these before but it looks quite a nice porch awning actually. It will be interesting to see if anybody has one and see what their comments are.
Yes we were quite impressed ...thinking of taking a ride over to Tamworth camping tomorrow to have a look and "feel"the quality.... Hope you are both well.....had a fab weekend at Hyde farm ......ears still ringing lol......see you soon
Yes you went to the 60's 70's & 80's era if I remember right. Glad you had a good time anyway and hope you get sorted with a new porch awning. Keep on rockin' and hope to see you both probably later in the year hopefully.
We recently switched from our kampa rally 260 to the fiesta 350. The fiesta gives that bit more room and is quite easy to erect. Not as easy as the rally though. We also bought the extension which gives that bit more room. We had the bits and pieces in there, freeing up the rest for chairs etc. The only tricky bit we found is putting the large pole in the front, which goes in first. It does need two people to do this bit.

Hi spideygirl. It seems ages ago now when you were thinking about buying a Sancerre and then went for the Pegasus - if my memory serves me correctly.
We like our Fiesta and find it a lot easier to put up that the Sunncamp Ultima 360 (I think it was) that we had - not a fan of 'lean-to type' - a bit of a fiddle to juggle the poles IMHO even with two of us. We've always put up awnings with two of us and have a system going, but I have done the front pole to the Fiesta on my own.
Hi DSB, what a great memory you have. We love our peggy and have had many weeks away in her. We actually bought the fiesta after a review you gave of it in previous posts. Also your pictures showed us how much room there was in it. We have only put the fiesta up a couple of times, so not got it off pat yet. Much easier than the full awning and we may just sell the full awning next year if we get on fine with the fiesta. We bought the extension for week away holidays to have a bit more room. Really pleased with the quality. We managed to get some extra screw on clamps (not sure what they are called) for the outside pole so we can put storm straps on.

Lovely to hear from you again. I would be interested to find out what your 'screw on clamps' are? I just can't think what they would be at the minute.
You've just reminded me. I've bought some Isabella Gripon clamps to replace the clamps on the end of the roof poles - I think it will be easier than the wing nuts. Haven't fitted them yet - hope they will fit the Fiesta. Take a look and see what you think - you will need to scroll down a little to see them - here.
My sister had one like in the link and it blew to bits wasnt same make I dont think but was ok for good weather. Outdoor Revolution compactalite is good value for money.

I don't know the name of them, but they are metal rings that have a screw to hold them to the pole. We put them on the corners of the front pole to hold the storm straps in place.
Which straps do you use spideygirl? Perhaps the Kampa ones thay go on the Rally? Do you use the yellow guy ropes as well as the straps or instead of? Too many questions! We've never used storm straps on the Kampa, but I do have a big one we use for the full awning. I doubt if this would fit the Fiesta though.
We use the same storm straps that the 260 used. We took off the storm strap fixings from the 260 and put them on the fiesta. They slid down before we put the pole clamps on. We have been on some very windy sites and we feel safer with the straps in place. We use all guy ropes and delta pegs! A bit of an over kill
My OH wants to know how you put the pole in the front of the fiesta on your own, we struggle to get it in. Not sure if we are putting it up right though.

I was afraid someone was going to ask that. Ususally two of us do it. I feed the pole through and join the poles, Carol traces it through and supports it. We have no problem doing it this way with two of us. It has been absolutely ages since I did it on my own, but from what I remember I started on the floor and did it basically on my knees feeding through and joining the poles, therefore not having to worry about the weight - you have to adjust the position and your position as you go. Difficult to explain, and it has been a time since I last did it. Probably couldn't do it now as my knees are not good at the moment - replacement left knee joint on the cards for next January.

2011 Kampa Fiesta 350 New Porch as anyone got one of these are they easy to put up we hav suncamp 260 but its not much good so thinking of changing

We had a Sunncamp Ultima 360 and just didn't like it. It was a complete pain to put up IMHO. It was a 'lean-to' type awning with the cheap thin fibre poles. It was a bit of a balancing act to get the poles up. Compared with this the Kampa Fiesta is a dream. Excellent quality and easy to put up IMHO. All sides zip out. (I have replied to your other thread too.) The best lightweight by far, with really good poles.
