Hi poeticisle, try the Free adds at the top of this site, also look arownd caravan show rooms and see what layout would suite your needs best.EG. if storing on drive,is there any by-laws or restrictions prohibiting caravans, Folding caravans are classified as trailers and are allowed in most areas under the by-laws, will van be to big,if drive way a bit difficult to get van on,will you need mover,or if you need storage are there any close by,and the cost of storage.hope this has not put you off good luck in your search.

There are also some good bargains to be had on ebay if you're careful - we just bought ours off ebay & saved a fortune on dealer prices plus got all the extras included.
Preloved is another good place to look plus if there are any storage sites near you it'd be worth ringing to see if they've seen any 'for sale' signs in any of the van windowns (there are two for sale on our site at the mo but the only people who'll see the signs are the ones who already have vans there!).
Try not to rule out having to travel for the right van. If we hadn't got this one (from 90 miles away) we were looking at another right down in Kent. We'd seen one the same at a dealer for £1700 more so we knew we liked it & the plan was to pay a local engineer to check it out for us then all being well drive down to collect, stay overnight locally & drive back the next day.

I am now considering buying a 2 berth caravan, instead of a folding caravan, as I think this would be more appropriate.
If anyone is selling a cheap caravan in the North East of England area, please let me know.
As eager to enjoy the experience of caravans as well as visiting many sites, hopefully in years to come.
Do not believe all they say as I asked 3 times via email is it damp. No
No No it came back. Well we got it, bought a Protec cover and lots of other things. Then had to scrap it without using it as it was all damp in the cupboard in the bathroom and was coming away fro the walls. We had a enginner there to put a mover on and the back suspension on thec.van was gone, so unless you can go and see it or have someone check it out for you than can be trusted to know what they are doing, like adheadsv said have it checked out ,be ultra careful. We must of lost around £1700-£1800 up in smoke we got £75 for it scrap. Get things in writing also and if you get it make sure that you check it right through straight away as if you leave it a bit longer you have no come back.
I hope you get a good one as there are a lot out there. Just be careful.
Hi poeticisle, Buy a damp meter to check out van, take it with you on your search, even if using a caravan show room. If you win van on ebay, and it is not as described when you go to collect it, you can refuse it, but it is best to view it before bidding, ask for damp report, vin number (chassis number) check number with CRiS caravan registrar, make sure your car can tow it, van should be 85% of your tow cars kerb side weight.
