I've been reading through the 'pimping' threads but have not found out if this is possible. Hubby says in can't be done but I am sure 'everything can be done if you try hard enough'. If so what paint should be used. Also can we see more pimping ideas as this has now given me lots of thoughts for my new 'old' Esterel.
Why use paint which can sweat in hot weather. A few things you could have ago at.
1) paper it in whatever you want.
2) Re-line it with the wooden looking self adhesive type.
3) Give your curtains & cushions a re-vamp it is surprising what it could look like.
It will be a bit fiddly in between the pieces of kitchen & wardrobes etc that come up when you open it up. But you can do other things behind the kitchen like those stick on mirror tiles that can make it look bigger as well as tell you wha tis behind something tall in front by reflection.
Flooring could definitely be those self adhesive wood floors you can get for B&Q so it is easier to clean like ours is but we also have a rug as I like warm floor when I get out to the loo at night. But not all over, its easy to clean this way.
paint works but use eggshell or a bathroom emulsion . that doesnt sweat the same. doesnt matter you can always use wallpaper or cover it in something later if you dont like it. cheers alan.
you are correct pimp my ride . does it really matter pimping is about making something old look like a young un. bit like prostitution . you could cut the skirt round the bottom short . put black net curtains in the windows. have a red light in side and whip a coat of paint on. hee hee the mind boggles. cheers alan . put some pics up when you finish it.

Anyroads I tend not to take much notice of American TV trends - so in my book pimping is running prostitutes not making old stuff look new !
Mind you I can think of a few situations where saying `pimping' when you mean primping could potentially be a bit embarrassing - or even dodgy/dangerous .....
We painted the ceiling of our Esterel with white emulsion and it made it so much brighter inside. So yes, you can pain the walls/ceiling etc. Good luck on the revamp and post pics when you're done
I'm having the same debate here with my little old kip pop top caravan! The interior layer/walls/roof is made from a very very thin veneer, which has a pattern 'printed?' on to it. I have experimented with a spare piece of this stuff. If I wet it, the 'pattern' can be scraped off. I wondered whether I would be able to just paint it, as I know I'm better with a paintbrush rather than wallpaper... but the thought of scraping off all that 'pattern' is daunting and it's so fragile as well. I wondered if I could just paint over it, or would the wetness of the paint pull off the pattern as I went along, thus creating a flaking surface?
Right, been to B&Q, and bought a few matchpots, two from their own make 'colours' range and one from the dulux range... I think it will need two coats whichever one I buy, but all are behaving rather well on the spare bit. The dulux one is no different to the B&Q either in coverage or colour. When they are fully dry, I'll give them a second coat and see what happens... good idea these matchpots...
