Is it a Remi top rather than a Heki?

If so once you have popped it open, as you describe, it slides forward.

In our Lunar the roof light only opens up a matter of a couple of inches by design and is held closed by two window type leaver catches. It took a phone call to our dealer to confirm this as we too were quite puzzled after seeing other caravans with their roof lights in an almost vertical position.

We are talking the clear Heki type here arnt we, and not the old type pop up kitchen and bathroom vents on older vans? (and still found in some new caravans along with the new clear ones? )

On our 2007 Lunar Solaris, we've got a tilt and slide roof light. It only opens  an inch or so but then it slides towards the front of the van. A good idea i think as it seems the ones that sit up right could be liable to damage if wiindy?

It took us a couple of trips to realise that we could tilt it - we thought it a bit useless that it only opened an inch or so!! Doh!

Ours is a 2006 model and if you google Remi Top roof lights ours is the same, i have had a good look at it a couple of times but theres no visible mechanism for it to slide forward, it is in effect a caravan window in the roof complete with similar catches and a cassette fly screen and blind.

Remi do make one that slides forward but it looks like its a far deeper shaped outer clear panel to the one fitted to ours, which is only about the same as a caravan 'double glazed' window.

If anyone knows otherwise, then i would be pleased to know about this too, but non of the sales websites i have just looked at for this model mention anything about it sliding once open.

We were really chuffed when we realised ours slid wide open as we too didnt't know there were sliding ne!

Hope yours is of the sliding variety!
