We are in the process of currently buying our first caravan.

Can anyone help me or recommend to me any good places to store the caravan round about  East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell,Airdrie or even Glasgow locations?

We live in Bellshill but don't mind a bit of travel if the storage location is good.

Many thanks.

Hi squince39, Welcome to the forum. There is a storage place in the Bellshill trading estate, cant remember name, but it is in the cash and carry yard, not sure if its the estate that Grahams the plumbers are on, just down that road 500yards down on left, if not that estate, will be the one next to fire station, and same distance down road on left, sorry not more specific, good few months since been on those estates, you will need to ask in cash and carry office, I only noticed it when passing, I saw a few caravan in their ground, and asked if they did storage, they did or still do storage, did not get prices at the time. There is a storage site in Airdrie, on the Cumbernauld road next to a timber merchants, and car wash, just past roundabout on right hand side,( if you store there Do Not use the Car wash for van, they use pressure washers at full pelt and stand on van roof, shower of cowboys). On this site at the top of page there is a button Features/Tips, this will give you a lot of info on buying caravans/what to look out for/list of essential equipment towing speeds/setting up before setting off/ and on site/weight limits, and a host of other things, Before buying your van 1st buy a good damp meter(check any van for damp),2nd check the kerb side weight of your tow car, the van you buy should be 85% of the cars kerb side weight. Any questions you have, no matter how daft you think they are, ask on here and all the member are only too willing to help and give you advice. Hope this helps.

I noticed there is what looks like maybe a farm that has storage that you see as you come south out of town and down onto the M73, it's over to the right of the motorway.

Could be called Woodhead Farm according to google maps. The access road is Roundknowe Road. (Uddingston)

Slightly further south as you come down onto the M74 there is a small place on your left.

The area is called Birkenshaw, the street is called Dunvegan Place, off the old A 74

My parents used to store their tourer at the Dunvegan Place storage unit. Many years ago it was run by an elderly lady and there were lots of vans there but cant remember seeing many vans the last time i passed.

There is one in Cumbernauld along the Airdrie Road from Luggiebank and also the one in Strathaven : http://www.cassoa.co.uk/storageSite.aspx?sku=STOS1252

You are right, now I come to think on it, last time we were past it (in March), I didn't see any vans at all. Maybe it is gone now.

Woodhead Farm is still operating.
