Hi we are wondering if anyone has got the whale aquasource ?
(Its a system that connects straight from the tap( to the inlet of the van.) We are interested in buying one but are a little nervous in case it damages the van. Our van is a peggy 514 and we are thinking of being seasonal and the pitch is a serviced pitch so rather than have the aqua roll we are interested in going direct.
Has anyone got one ? anyone had any problems ? please can you advise
I've been using the Truma mains connection on my Lunar for ages. Never had a problem but you do have to make sure all the connections are secure as it seems to be at a slightly higher pressure than a pump would use.

We use this fantastic bit of kit Mains Water Valve Adaptor for Aquaroll, works like a Toilet system does once you have so much water in your Aqua roll the vale stops it , when you use water in the van the valve opens and allows more water in, plus you can never flood your van with these if it did over flow it would be from the Aqua roll outside .
I've got to be honest, I prefer the system that Gillian58 uses (bought mine as kit from this guy here) and it's works a treat.
I was tempted by the direct connection kit's, but as mentioned by Birder99, you want to be absolutely confident your fittings are secure as the whole system is under constant pressure (albeit reduced to approx 1bar), so there's a risk of joints popping off; I encountered this twice last year with fellow caravanners at two seperate sites, both van flooded.
With the Aquaroll kit kit, the water is still drawn by pump and controlled on demand from the tap; in my opinion a safer route.
We had Whale aquasource and the water pressure was ok untill the second day on site and while we were out having sunday lunch it blew a pipe of under the front dinette and flooded the van .
Got rid and bought an Mains Aquaroll adapter far safer
Although we are yet to use it we also went for the auqaroll mains adaptor kit as mentioned above. It was around £50 from go outdoors and is a very simple ball valve systems using the existing 40L aquaroll we have. I preferred this to a direct connnection just to remove any risks of me flooding the van !! The first few sites we are visiting next month don't have full service pitches so it might not be till next year that we actually get to use it!
The system has a built in valve to protects against flooding. It restricts the pressure to below that which the pump would provide to prevent any blown joints or seals in the van. As I understand the position, the average mains water pressure tends to be around 3 bar during the day and slightly lower at peak usage times. As usage drops during the late evening and early hours the pressure rises, and can get up to or exceed 10 bar. Within the aqua source they say that there is an inbuilt regulator that regulates mains water pressure to a nominal 1.5 bar. Click here scroll down and click on "Features"
Just to be sure I actually emailed Whale and gave them details about my van and asked if it was safe. They responded immediately to confirm its safe use. If you are still unsure then just email Whale. I am sure that they will give you the comfort you require
