Can anyone recommend a stop off point for food, wees and drinks somewhere close to the bit where the M50 becomes the A40 before you get on the M4 going to South Wales
Im sure theres a big truckers type cafe somewhere close to the M50/A40 turn off but have googled all over the place and cant find it
As a last resort we will stop at motorway services but dont feel confident leaving the van out of sight for a meal
Can't help with a stop-off point, but could you not take something with you to eat in the caravan?
We are always anxious about leaving the caravan unattended too, so we don't.
On the way to France and the return journey, we had meals that could be cooked on the gas hob. We took a bottle of water for the stove-top kettle so we could have a cuppa. On the way we had spaghetti bolognese (cooked the bolognese beforehand and stored in the fridge and cooked the spaghetti on the hob). On the way back we had baguette and beans with sausages. Nothing fancy but perfectly adequate.

We stopped at a garage/shop/service station type place on the A40 just near Monmouth. Despite only being a garage (rather than a full blown Welcome Break type place) there is plenty parking as the trucks stop there, the loos are clean and the coffee is OK. There is a bit of a picnic type area and space to stretch the dog. It did what we wanted it to splendidly.
I don't think there is anything actually at Ross, other than the small services, but if you carry on down the A40, pass the closed Little Chef and lorry garage, about 2 miles further on there is a petrol station just after a junction, with a transport cafe.
hi, we always take picnic type food to eat in the services. You can stop for a loo break and leg stretch whilst one of you stays with the van. We do this, I go first and then my hubby takes the boys, when they get back all the food is ready. There are also bins there for you to put your rubbish in. A nice picnic (eaten in the van or car) and a flask of tea/coffee and pop is brill. have a good time. gary
I would actually skip the M50 and take the A38/A449 to Ledbury, A438 to Hereford then the A465 right down to Neath where I would join the M4 for a short distance into the Llanelli junction. This will cut at least 30 miles off the trip and is a much more enjoyable drive. There are a few pubs and fast food outlets on the way too.
nice little cafe off jct 1 m50 head towards worcester a38 go past the layby just after a left hand junction is a huge layby you will see some trucks cafe in the corner freshly cooked food and clean i use it often yes i drive a truck
