Off to Ross Park Sept 3rd, on a serviced pitch (never done this before). Confirmation says fresh and waste water on the pitch. Stupid question really (an I could ring the park but don't want to look daft) what do we need, and I assume we can leave behind the wastemaster and aquaroll, thus also saving weight there??
If you don't use your Aquaroll how are going to get water into the van? I think the fully serviced pitch means you have your own tap.
Waste disposal is done by connecting a pipe[s] to your van waste exits.Have you some suitably long piping to do this. Otherwise it is the Wastemaster but not far to drag it.
Fully serviced just means ehu, water tap and waste drainage are on the pitch.
There are several products on the market to allow for connection of water; some connect direct between the supply tap and the water inlet on the van and some rely on keeping your existing Aquaroll topped-up automatically.
Personally, I prefer the latter idea as there's been instances of the direct feeds causing flooding should an internal pipe/joint pop in the van.
I bought one of these kits here and it works a treat. It keeps your Aquaroll half full of water and just tops-up as you draw some off (functions similar to a loo cistern).
If I were you, I'd still take the wastemaster too, just in case. I've been to a few fully serviced sites and been caught out as the drainage has been awkward to reach or been placed oddly in relation to drain outlets on van. If I don't use, I just leave it under the van out of the way.
The kit I've linked to is lightweight and it stays in the van all the time as I've also dropped into some sites that haven't advertised as being serviced pitches and had the use of the adaptor kit anyway.
Diamond007.......We had a two week stay at Ross Park at the beginning of last month. We had a fully serviced pitch, number 3, it had electric hook up, water and waste drain. Pitch was near the toilet block. Smashing site.

Hi all,

Thanks!
i didnt know either but glad of the replies given. its all new to me
On this note I also had a similar question and that is what sort of pipe do you use to connect the waste outlet to the drain on a service pitch? We are getting our first van in 2 weeks and although we have the auqaroll mains adaptor kit haven't yet got any long pipes for the waste element. We have a small section of grey coil type pipe for the waste master but as this is quite "spring" like (i.e keep coiling up!) wondered what people use over a longer distance to the drain........or is this grey pipe what you use just in a longer length? We won't be using a service pitch this year but it would be good to know for the future!
Hi dazzer252,
that grey pipe can also be used to take your waste directly to the drain. you can 'route' it quite easily by using tent pegs either side of it to stop it coiling back on itself.
We've just come back from 2 weeks on a service pitch - it was great! We used the Water Hog kit and food grade pipe from the water tap into the Water Hog. For the waste we used the grey pipe direct from van to the drain. We took the Waste Hog (just in case) and kept it under the 'van and didn't need to use it. Ours also had a TV connection point and ehu point. The site was Lakeside CC site at Exebridge.
Thanks Rich....Tents pegs sounds like the solution! Just need to get a length of pipe then, no rush though as we have 3 seperate weeks away in Sep / Oct but none of them are on a fully serviced pitch!
Thanks guys! I just assumed that we wouldn't need the aquaroll etc and that we could connect directly. We shall just stick with taking the aqua I think. Interesting to find all these things out! Thanks!
Countrymusicfan - we cannot wait to go! Never been to Ross Park before, it was recommended by some people on this site, and looks fantastic!
