let us know how you get on, we had a chat about curtains last night all you would have to do is send your old curtains and either buy the material yourself and send them all together and we would post them back job done, would not have a clue what to charge but sure we could agree something sensible. the missis works part time and is lookimg for something to keep her busy, and i just bought her a brand new sewing machine when she did our curtains.

just in case you need it our email is harney_craig at yahoo.co.uk

good luck

Hi Sheltie,

I have just dyed my Caravan curtains and they came out fine which shocked me as they're velvet!!. If yours have gone wrong you can buy Dylon pre-dye which removes the colour ready to dye again. Take a look on the dylon website and good luck.

I just ensured my washing machine was a quarter full so the curtains had plenty of room to move around and used Dylon salt. All in all £15 to do the lot.

You definitely need to remove the dye before you re dye otherwise you'll make the new dye patchy too.

I was a goth in a former generation constantly dying clothes

I'm planning to dye my curtains - faded and a ghastly coral pink which doesn't match anything else. I think caravan manufacturers have different people choose carpet, cushions and curtains and they only meet at the production line!
I have taken on board about doing them in 2 lots but how many packets of dye have others used in each machine load? Has anyone used the Dylon pre-dye? I am hoping to dye my curtains navy which would then match the blue in the carpet and cushions but I think I need to get rid of the pink first.
Incidentally, I rang the Dylon advice line who said that caravan curtains would not take the dye because of their fire retardent treatment but as others have been successful I will give it a try. Thanks

As already said curtains are not that hard to do I made mine and recovered the pelmets with the fabric that I used to reupholster the seats and used a combination of the two fabrics to make small cushions I bought new popple tape from Dunelm.

Sue.
