Help needed - We bought a 2006 Bailey Senator Louisiana at the end of March. 6 months warranty provided. had noticed a 'mark' on wall at nearside back. In early July noticed this had worsened and nvestigation proved this to be damp. Had van independently inspected and was told water ingress had been present for at least 6 months i.e. well before we bought it. We feel dealer would have known about this so mislead us in sale. As a result, even though they have offered to repair it we no longer want the van. Largely because dealer isn't a Bailey approved agent for repairs and pre-delivery jobs all looked bodged. This is a major repair involving at least 6' on side of van and all back panelling/furniture to be removed to check extent at back of van. We would really like to locate previous owenr as this could strengthen our argument that dealer intentionally deceived us on condition at point of sale. Any suggestions or anyone experiencing similar problems with this model please get in touch!!! thanks
We had a very dry start of yr so the damp may not have been noticable in March. Plenty of caravans leak, as long as they are resealed before they rot then no problem.
Have you asked for a refund? If the dealer is not willing it could be a long drawn out thing & if he has a proper workshop & is capable of doing body repairs then it sounds as if he is acting reasonably. If you got a refund & got another caravan of similar age it could be just as bad or worse.
Thanks Tentz - we have asked for a refund and they have refused! Not got much of a workshop which is what really worried us! I think to someone experienced the damp would have been obvious when we bought it - we were just a bit ignorant at that time - I agree that this is probably reason why it didn't smell damp when we saw it!! The van we traded in was 1996 and dry as a bone!
I would go ahead a let them repair it you dont have to be a Bailey dealer to fix a damp van, though i feel very sorry for you it must be very upsetting for a van so young to be leaking, would love to know who the dealer is though . xx Gill .

If you van has been serviced annually it will still be under the 6 year bailey warranty for water ingression .
your caravan has a manufacturers warranty of 6 years,providing servicing had been carried out within the time periods allowed by Bailey. I am surprised that the dealer did not inform you that the warranty was transferable for a sum of £25 this would save you a great deal of grief.
If the service documents are up to date & done within the specified time period of I think 60 days of the anniversary of the date of original purchase. you may be able to get bailey to transfer the warranty.
