ive been enjoying this forum since we bought our caravan back in the early spring, every sunday / monday you can always guarentee that someone will have had a 'challenging' weekend away...be it noisy ignorant campers, loose dogs, unruly kids or flying tennis balls. we've always read these posts and thought, well at least we dont have those hassles where we go, well this weekend has been a right wake up call!! We've been away countless times this year both weekend and longer. For longer stays we always use the CC or C & CC sites but for weekends we stay local. Theres a lovely site close to us that does carp fishing, it has hook ups and is a mixed unit private site. We've been a few times this year, its been busy but never full and sometimes its been lovely and quiet. They only have 2 showers and three loo's so its best when not busy really.Anyway, we booked this bank hols knowing the weather was bad and though aw well, last trip before the schools go back. never in a million years did we expect the stressy weekend we had. It was packed..absolutely heaving. There was a huge motorhome with a caravan next to it ( the same party) not far from us and they were so loud you could hear the their conversation up to about 2 am. There were kids with tennis balls that hit our van and the loose dogs...drove us mad. Everytime our boy got out his tennis balls to play the bloody dog from said motorhome party legged off with it. The party in the motorhome were just completely ignorant. the dog kept going over to other caravans and hassling their dogs, its ambushed ours everytime we tried to go for a walk, in short they really p*ssed us off! i did mention it to the site manager but they didnt do anything...
what is with people who come to these sites and act like they own the bloody place??? In the end we came home a day early. We were up till about 1am listening to the ignorant gits sitting in their awning next door and then our little girl woke up at 4am when someone decided to drive round the site. enough was enough!! lesson learnt, CC and C & CC for us every time!
Many sites are listed on various websites which have feed back forms. I appreciate that your problem was with one group but by the fact that you spoke with the site management to no avail then the site manager/owner can expect some negative feedback.
For mine (and probably many others) own info which site is this?
all i can say is name and shame this site.we have two dogs and two children but would never let them run around or even let the dogs run free.you go away to rest not to be annoyed by other users of the site.you told the manager of the said site and they did nothing so name and shame them.
Well, this was our point. we have a huge labrador who is a gentle soul and a fiesty whippet rescue who is quite capable of a scrap, we keep them both under control at all times and yet these people were utterly oblivious. I lost count of the number of times their dog was running loose and it even had a poo on a neighboring pitch! Thing is , this was a large group, 3 large blokes and three women plus a teenage boy, there is only me and hubby plus our 3 kids and we felt confrontation was just not an option!

Don't blame you we only use C.C and second choice C&CC site's because of these sort of incidents and poor behaviour , at least if there's any problems the wardens will nip it in the bud .
Past experience's have totally put me of private site's because of the type of people who use them and the lack of action when you complain .
Please name and shame this site for the benefit of others.
I would never advocate any one taking the law into their own hands, but at the other end of the scale sadly we now feel that we cannot challenge bad behaviour. Its not what you say its how you say it.
We live locally to this site and Ive just written an email with our comments to the site manager. i will wait to see what they say as we have every intention of coming back. As I said, this was our 5th stay and although we had a problem with noise once before aside from that we really enjoyed it. I have read a couple of reviews on it and they do say to steer clear on big holiday weekends.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
