Although GradeUK have supplied plug in transformers for these, they're generally run just from the 12v in the van direct, with a suitable cable and small coaxial type jack plug to suit.

I'm sure they're designed for 12v or 24v use only and detect the supply accordingly, however there are various different versions of the amplifier (they look the same but have different logo's etc on them), so you'd be worth dropping a query direct to Grade.

I've found them to be excellent at responding, email address customerservice at gradeuk.co.uk (change the AT for the usual symbol, the forum changes email addresses).

As suggested, I'd take advice from the manufacturer, but if you want to try the PSU you've got, then make sure it delivers at least 55mA (should be on the rating label).

Incidentally, I've just seen that their current catalogue shows a 12v regulated PSU for use with their amplifiers.

We have a new van with vision plus fitted as standard but as yet I have not got it to work on freeview, so not very impressed with the system. From where we live you can see the transmission beacon, the caravan set-up works in the house with the house aerial, vision-plus not a flicker so we use free-sat everywhere we go no probs.
The van is only 5months old it has to go back for a few tweeks, vision-plus is one!

You stated earlier that it says 12/24v on the unit.
The / symbol usually suggests OR so I'd read as 12 OR 24v which would equate to either car or truck use. If it read 12-24v, then assume operation between 12 and 24v.

To be absolutely certain though, and at the risk of appearing rude, ASK THE MANUFACTURER; that's why I gave you their email address for support, with the advice that they're excellent at response.

No problem, I think some folk skim read posts and get the wrong end of the stick sometimes (I've been guilty of it).

To conclude, perhaps you'd let us know what Grades response is on this query, for future reference.
