I am new to caravans and just purchased a swift corniche 14 2 cheap for a starter van. It is missing the zig unit, what I would like to know is what is the purpose of the zig unit and what does it do. The only electrics I have in the van are the sockets when plugged into the mains there is no leisure battery connected. If I need a zig unit, where can I get one from and how do I wire it up all the wires seem to be there. Can it be bypassed to operate the lights, fridge, fire etc. Cheers Les

This is the picture where the zig control panel is fitted it is 280m ( about 11in ) long and 80m ( about 3 1/4 in ) deep. It as got 3 green wires and 3 white wires on the left hand side and on the right there is a white mains cable from a fused switch, 2 red wires, 3 green wires, 1 white wire and a black cable fitted with a black plug with three pins.

As anybody got an idea what model number zig control panel should be fitted to this swift corniche 14 2 it is the one with the storage box that sits on the towing frame. I am not sure of the age of the van.

ring round caravan breakers or seek them out on ebay for a replacement unit , it would appear that someone has bypassed the unit and has wired it just for ehu . without the need for a leisure battery , if that suits you i would get the wiring checked for safetys sake , if you need to find the exact unit used , google the maker and model , if its not in the manual for the van ,there will be a forum group on that particular caravan somewhere ,,

With those sizes I'd say you are looking for the zig 2000

front

rear

They did however suffer from melting fuse holders
