Out of interest, how has everyone who caravan's abroad find their fridges cope? I would have thought the fridge would be unlikely to keep below 5C when it's near 40C outside.
It was 41C in Spain in April when we left and my fridge was fine in fact I had to turn it down as it was freezing the salad at the back of the fridge , I was running it on gas which seemed to make it more efficient

Hi all, looking at getting a brand new Elddis 554 and was wondering about a couple of issues.
1. Will I be comfortable towing this with my 53 plate Galaxy 1.9 td - it will be the first time I have towed a caravan.
2. How hot do modern caravans get inside? We will be using the van in hopefully 30-40 degrees temperatures ( not uk - obviously)?
Thanks in advance, Carl.
They get warm, however you sleep at night with the roof open.
With an exterior temperature of 37C last summer just outside Royan, the interior of the caravan was unbearable.
Every window and rooflight (Heki and three other standard ones) were all open to the maximum setting and we had a big desktop fan working night and day on it's maximum setting.
All the panels were removed from the awning permanently so this provided a degree of shade.
Thankfully, the pitch was part shaded as well. If you're going to travel to sunnier, hotter climes I would definitely consider getting an air-conditioning unit fitted.
