Love our Elddis Odyssey 540. Have looked at many other vans and have not found one to come close in terms of the quality of the finish. Mind you I suppose that everyone says that of their own vans. Caravanning is about compromise so I think that what few criticisms we may have is more to do with the compromises that have to be made rather than a real downer for the Odyssey
For the two of us the storage space is fine. If you have more folk in the van or just like to carry a lot of stuff you may find them a tad small. Certainly compared to, say, a Bailey.
Check the bed. I think that the 634 has the same sized bed as the 540. I would prefer a couple of extra inches in the length but I manage.
Would prefer larger Kitchen draws but, again, we manage.
Shower is brilliant. Just as good as our electric shower at home. Plenty of room to move around in as well.
We do find that if we use the floor level cupboard under the front table we can inadvertently knock the blown air heating pipes apart. Just something to watch for when you find it cold in winter!!!
Large enough front locker for two cylindars and our tools, bits and bobs etc. Noseweight is always easy to get and the balance makes towing nice and smooth. The 634 is a twin axel so it will probably be even better.
Worst thing is the silly cupboard over the fire. It has a drop down flap and you need to get on your knees to see into it to find anything, so it tends not to get used much. A proper pull out drawer would be better.
Only the one socket where the tele goes which is neither use nor ornament if you need a satellite box as well. No socket near the bedroom mirror so we use the Tv socket and have extended the haridryer cable! The 2011 model took out the off side bedroom window (sensibly) and did put a socket next to the larger bedroom mirror.
That off side bedroom window is a waste of time and, as I say, they have taken it out and left a solid wall instead (2011 model) and used that as a dressing table arrangement. Don't know if they have on the 634. They sold it as being of benefit when you wake up in the morning and you can sit in bed drinking your tea looking out over the countryside. Truth is you look out at the caravan on the next pitch and do you really want them looking into your bedroom? So, we keep the blind down all day and night. So, if the 634 has this arrangement it may annoy you
....but look, feel, finish and quality sell the Odyssey
