just wondered what everyone does with their awning curtains, do you leave them attached or take them down each trip. We have just bought a new quest elite porch and it has white/cream curtains. we have always left the curtains to out pyramid full awning attached and never had problems but the first time out the curtains on new awning got dirty when folding it up and they are a real pain to get on and off so have taken them off and washed them ready to put on again, just dont fancy doing this each trip as we go out at least once a month, has anyone got any tips. We have a sunncamp Daytona awning and remove the curtains before packing away. Thankfully they just clip on and are easy to remove so we store them under one of the seats and not with the rest of the awning...this also avoids them picking up any dirt off the other parts! The only thought I had was to put large black bin bags over yours as you roll up the awning....at least this might keep them dry and stain free and is a cheap option?
Leaving the curtains attached to the awning before packing away sounds a bit like leaving your underpants in your trousers before they go in the wash. We have always removed the awning curtains as they will get creased when folded and also liable to get dirty. Maybe it does take a little while to attach and remove them but we like the awning curtains to be as respectable as the caravan curtains, even though we mainly use the blinds.
We always take ours off at the end of a trip and fold them up then put them in the original bag they came in. Normally store them in one of the lockers. Bring them home at the end of October to wash and iron ready for next trip out.
Don't enjoy putting them up each time though, always break a nail, swear a few times and need a glass of wine once the last one is up.

. We always take the curtains down when folding the full awning. The Kampa Fiesta has 'integrated blinds' so we don't have a choice.
Following on from this, how may people actually close curtains? Only very occasionally do we close the full awning curtains at night - most of the time they stay open. Similarly, we hardly ever close the blinds of the Kampa Fiesta - it makes the awning look very dark. In fact we pack the Fiesta panels with the blinds rolled up (or rather, down). This solves us the bother next time. I've even thought of trying to find a way of removing them.
While we hardly ever close the curtains of the full awning, we always put them up. Somehow the awning does look 'dressed' without the curtains.
We also never use the curtains in the van at night - always use the blinds. But we do close the curtains while the van is in storeage and leave ther blinds up.
Some years ago, there was a caravan manufacturer who only supplied 'dummy curtains' - just the bits of material at the side. You couldn't close them. Perhaps I could get some of these for my awning?

Our caravan has "dress curtains", though I never knew the correct term for them until now! But then it's a German van, and I get the impression that those Continental johnnies don't go for the chintzy look. It saves a lot of faff, and after all the blinds do the job of keeping out the light/ensuring privacy.
As for the awning curtains, I'm afraid we're awful slobs and leave them attached when we fold up the awning, although we do wash them now and then!!
