My kitchen sink seal is starting to perish and I would like to replace it before I get a problem with damp.

It is made of a black/plastic compound that sits under the sink as it sits in the work top.

I have made numerous searches on ebay, cak tanks, caravan part firms etc etc but have found nothing.

Has anybody any idea's please

this might sound a bit simple but what about a black mastic silicone sealant like you get in diy stores?

what is the sink it self made of ?. the black plastic compound you talk of , is it actually forming a seal between the sink and the work top ? or is it just a square patch that adheres to the underneath of the drainer and the bottom of the bowl , if it's the latter , you have nothing to worry about ,,

Thanks for the reply's,

The seal is in strip form, and sits under the sink rim forming the seal to the worktop, as I mentioned it is made of a black plastic/rubber compound.

I suppose I could use a mastic but would prefer to replace it with some thing similar

Sink is a conventional steel type.

I think what you are after is a "U" shaped black rubber gasket seal that slots around the edge of the sink/drainer. We had this on our last caravan. I would try the caravan manufacturer or look for the manufacturer of the sink unit itself. Could be stuck / stamped / moulded to the underside. Failing those if you google rubber seal. There are lots of company's offering a wide range of different seal sections
