I know there are several folk who write a caravaning 'blog'. I have started to do this - my summer blog is here.
Before this, I have kept a very brief note of where we have been etc. I now always do a review of sites to put on here and I keep a seperate record of these.
Hi, yep I am in the blog club! I did actually start it in notebook form a couple of years ago, for my own reference and having discovered the land of blog started it this August. I am very much a gadget person (to my detriment) so blogging suits me down to a T. I also enjoy reading other peoples blogs (David and Tigermouse thumbs up) and confess to stealing tips from them - not the content but the "technology" e.g David your "put blog in book form" is a great idea - will explore that further! I love looking at other peoples pics, especially handy for places that I fancy visiting. I do need to put some reviews on here though, will try and start that this weekend. Whatever way you do your notes Colin, it is good fun reading them back.
Busy today writing a report to deliver at an AGM this evening, but will check out all these blogs next week when things are a bit less hectic. Just having a 10 min break on here. I love reading about other folks' holidays.
I bought a specific caravan trip journal type thing when we started 2 years ago. It's got a set format for each trip, where you enter basic details, pitch fees, location, dates travelled, mileage etc and then a rating.
It's great fun and I regularily go back over it...I am also in the process of writing an Android app to do the same thing - hopefully have that ready for next season and I'm sure you'll all want to buy a copy

I do write my sites that we go to and when in a diary.
I also write a travel log if we go abroad with places that we stop and where we get fuel this helps if we go the same way again. Adding details of what they are like.
I log all of our trips on MS Works Database - date, place, who with, price, facilities & comments. I usually start it at the beginning of the year with a list of possible dates & places & then update as the year goes on. The journal looks good, I might treat myself.
I bought a folder with plastic wallets. I write up details of the site and facilities and what I think of the site. Usually there are information sheets from the sites we visit (caravan and camping and caravan sites) and these are attached to my findings and put in the plastic wallet. Works OK for me!
I keep a daily diary while on holiday an excercise book that I write the dates in. Where we are, cost, pitch number, sunny if and when, better pitches for if we return etc. In addition what we have done, the weather, who we meet, their names and kind of caravan etc. We spend many an hour reminicing and it is great when we see people again and if we have forgotten their names the trusty diary helps us out. I wish I had done it sooner I am on my third book going back ten years. I like the look of the journal and might treat myself. Give it a try I don't think that you will regret it.Take care
