We have never been to a national rally so wanted to know feedback from any of you that have been before, Is it usually a good atmosphere and is the age group varied, more for little kids or teenagers to do?
The entertainment tickets are £16 adult & £11 youth (5-17yrs) per evening seems quite pricey for a family. Is it usually good worth the money? do you have to pay for them upfront or can you pay when you are there?
Sorry for lots of question's we fancy going just want to find out abit more about it....
I would like to go but I don't think the pitch prices are worth the money considering there's no toilets or showers on site or for that matter EHU .
The C.C could easily organize these facilities but dont bother

There is EHU available £30 extra, not seen anything toilets/showers tho!
Fair comment but the Club are a huge organization and could easily lay on temp showers and toilets but don't .
And the money your paying there should be those facilities available .
I been to independently organized caravan and Motorhome show's where there has been these services available .

Er whats the point of buying a caravan with these facilitys and then moaning about the fact you cannot share somebody else's
Cos I for one don't want to be humphing water back and forward 2-3 times a day just so I can shower in the van .
Plus since I had an op on my back lifting or moving anything heavy is out of the question
Blimey, I'm in agreement with Big Al again. Find somewhere that suits your needs - if this doesn't then don't go - simples.

So anyway what i wanted info about was the rally, the entertainment, how much there is for the kids to do n wether the evening entertainment is worth paying for.....
Hi, The CC national Rally is great for kids if thet like to mix with other kids and like sports, there is always loads for them to do, kids clubs, this year there was a climing wall set up with pro supervision, to many other things going on to list them all, as for the evening entertainment Chris & I don't attend, it is expensive, but if it's an act you wish to see, not to bad, the acts are usually very good judging by the crowds that do attend, overall if you like meeting new folks its a good weekend.
The question I would ask is how many showers would be required?
Correct me if I am wrong but this event is attended by at least 2000 caravans. That must equate to several thousand people. The number of showers required would be huge. You have only got to be on a site with a hundred vans in high season to see queues forming in the shower block.
The whole operation is an expensive one as it stands with extensive groundworks carried out for pipework/ cabling etc and then the reinstatement afterwards.
We like to use full facility sites even though we have our own facilities in our van.
For that reason we would not attend a national rally. I would not expext the CC to provide showers etc for the reasons given above.
We watched the South Wales rally on Fridays episode of Wales on Wheels and everyone had a great time with loads of activities and sporting events every one mucked in and all seemed very friendly.
I didn't see any toilets showers or hook ups so I wonder if they would have facilities to empty your toilet.
With any public event attended by 1000s of people any amount of portable facilities will become skanky in a short time & a small army of cleaners will not be able to keep up. So it is pointless providing any at all if people have their own.
