Hi.David.I have had a broken ankle recently and have not been able to use the van.The other week we had it out to do something and I hiched it to the house electrics so as to give the battery a bit of a charge. We have a motor mover fitted (yes on a folding camper) well it was on when we got it anyway because my ankle was in a cast we engaged the mover but it didnt seem to have much go to it and that is why I charged it off the house electrics. We always use a hookup on site but the twin electrics are always connected so the battery should have a it of juice when its been used on a regular basis.Well that got me to thinking about the switch and if it was in the right position I presumed that it always had been.Cheers.Alex
One thing we have to remember to do with this caravan is to switch off the Master switch when the van is in storeage. If we don't, the little bit of electricity that goes through the system is enough to take some power out of the battery and the motor mover is likely to pack up half way through the job. I think some of the power goes in the vacinity of the radio (I think the radio light is on the whole time unless you switch of the Master switch). I doubt if you have the same system on the TT, but I mention it just in case.
Not sure what you're getting at when you say the twin electrics are always connected? They should only be plugged into the car while you are travelling, for road lights, fridge and charging the 12v battery. Not on site and not at home - there the mains electric lead is what you use. I've probably misunderstood what youi are getting at here??
P.S. Hope the ankle is getting better.
