aww i loved this post...just had to reply..
About 3 yrs ago some friends of ours, fellow caravanners, started planning xmas, or rather bemoaning the over commercialisation of xmas these days. We hatched a plan...2 families with 2 caravans and 2 awnings in the welsh valleys for christmas....several montsh later and we put the plan to action. It was fabulous. We hid all the pressies, joined up the awnings into one big one and decorated the whole thing with the naffist decs we could lay our hands on. We took the kids on the santa express steam railway on christmas eve and sipped mulled wine in the frosty evenings. We were in the middle of nowehere, had a hook up but that was it. We managed to run out of gas on xmas day but thankfully the farmers wife cooked the turkey in her aga! It truely was the most magical christmas ever and we still look back and think...we did what??? but it was so lovely. go for it, the kids will never forget our caravanning christmas.
