I would think that everyone knows that my present caravan is a Stealth but I've owned about 10 other vans over the last 30 years.
The best ones were a Bailey Clifton 5 berth, double dinnets, The one at the rear had U shaped seating. A joy to tow.
And the other was a Buccaneer 14 L. I was it's second owner. The 1st owner had ordered it with white upholstery with peacocks there on, had it about 4 years but water got in round the flue in the roof and we offloaded it. It was compact but had lots of well thought out fittings. The bed was a nightmare though !.
Love my Lunar Solaris SE, very light and roomy.I looked at many many vans before purchasing it, was straight away struck by the airiness of it. Also I believe at the time of purchase it was the 1st fixed bed on a single axle.
I always thought we should have gone the whole hog and purchased a Twin Axle but didn't so our 1st Caravan was a Coachman Pastiche 535/4 which we liked, as time progressed we felt the need for an End Bathroom so purchased a Coachman Pastiche 560/4 and this just didn't do it for me..
So we have now taken the plunge and ordered a Bailey Barcelona a twin axle which is what I always thought we should have purchased in the first place, can't wait to take delivery and then our first trip out.......roll on 2012.
One of the best vans to us was a swift jura 2 berth with end vanity room.Sorry that we sold it but through health im not able now to put up an awning so we bought the bigger van as you see in my profile. Its got loads of room and i cant see us ever going back to smaller vans.
After retirement in early 2010 we went off in our bailey pageant burgundy for two months and soon found out while ok for a fortnight and the odd weekend they have short comings such as corner bed, combined bog/shower, basin in bed room. small fridge etc
So armed with pension cash wind fall on came the 2010 swift conqueror 645 and with its island bed,and a wardrobe a piece, alde heating, large fridge/freezer its just right for extended touring and in its first year of use fault free
we have only had two caravans but the one we have now has got to be the best,so much so the caravan show at manchester could not entice us to change for anything we had seen there.we have a bailey 2003 500/5 and the layout suits us both for the lifestyle we lead.the grandchildren love it as they have a full size bed at the rear of the van.plus it has all the mod cons anyone could need in a caravan apart from a microwave.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
WE HAVE HAD LOADS OFF VANS OVER THE YEARS OUR FIRST NEW ONE WE GOT AT THE CARAVAN SHOW 12 YEARS AGO A LUNER CLUBMAN 4 BIRTH WITH TWIN AXEL PAID TO HAVE THAT MADE INTO THE LIFT UP SINGLE AXEL FOR MOVING INTO PLACE .WE THEN SWAPPED THAT FOR THE ABI NORTHSTAR AND HAD THAT STOLEN . AT THAT POINT WE GAVE UP CARAVANING FOR A FEW YEARS SO UPSET .WE THEN BOUGHT A FOLDING CAMPER CONWAY CRUSADER THAT WAS GREAT HAD THAT 6 YEARS BOUGHT ANOTHER ABI BRIGHSTAR WE JUST SOLD THAT TO GET THE QUARTZ 6 BUT THATS ANOTHER TALE THATS IN THE FORUN UNDER LEAKING QUARTS 6 TENTS AND FOLDING CAMPERS WE HAVE HAD TENTS ALSO GOT MY MONEY BACK OFF QUARTZ 6 AND HAVE JUST BOUGHT ELDDIS XPLORE 474 FIXED NOT BEEN IN IT YET BUT I LOVE IT
We have had a Sprite, Adria Altea 432px and a Swift challenger 570. The Swift is the best caravan we've had by far.
------------- 2013
March: Ferry Meadows
April: North Morte, North Devon
May: Lyndon Top, Rutland
May: Top Lodge.
June: Fairy's lodge
July: La Croix Du Vieux Pont
August: West Beeston,
The van we have now is the best but still looking for better, now have our eyes on a 5th wheel but I should think in a few years time more caravans will be made with slide outs so may well hold out for one.
Our current (new to us) van is an Abbey Aventura 2 berth.
Our best van was our 1st van, a 1982 Marauder which we bought in 1994. No running water, electric non-standard, no cassette loo, no shower, no cooker, no heater. BUT we had the most fabulous holidays with our now grown up children.
We were oblivious to the new vans and outfits around us (although I think people weren't so bothered then either), just enjoyed every minute with no yeaning for anything better tbh.
