Hi all
Can someone tell me if my charger is okay to charger my 100AHr Leisure battery.
Charger is from Halfords in 1995 but seems to be a smart charger (I guess one of the first). Note the price of £14.99 which I guess would equate to about £40 or so today.
Pics follow:-

and last but not least, this leaflet of the 3 LED version

Thought that I'd post the Instructions as others may still have this charger.

Thanks in advance.

No this is not suitable as it states in the instructions that it should be disconnected as soon as the battery is fully charged also it states on the back of the charger that is is only suitable for upto 80Ah.

It is definitely not a smart charger.

Thanks fuzzchopz, I thought for a moment that I could have saved myself £50/£60, but not so.
I'll keep it for the car.
Thanks again

Hi
Thanks but they don't have them in at the moment and I need one.
I'm looking at getting a CTEK Multi XS5.0 which is the new charger from CTEK, I know it's more pricey but I need to get one and get a good one.
Anyone got any opinions on this new charger please.

Thanks

I have the CTEK, it is good and recovers old batteries very successfully as well. I use it to fully charge my 110amp caravan battery, somthing the caravan charger will not do.

I also have something similar to the Ctek charger. It which does charge well, but takes a bit longer than a normal car battery charger.

The one thing I would mention (speaking from experience, LOL) is to disconnect it when it's done its job, as leaving it attached if you switch off the electricity means that it will drain the battery again!

So ok to leave on and connected as long as you are connected to the leccy. They do have a little plug type connection along the line if you connect them permanently to your battery, but you must remember to disconnect them when the electric is turned off.

Hi folks

Everything sorted, thanks to all for your suggestions.
We went into Lidl today to get something that we wanted, and looking around, I found 3 of the battery chargers that are talked about so much on these forum threads and are praised so much, so I got one, what about that for a bit of luck, hope it does what it's supposed to do, will try it tomorrow.

Thanks again to all.
